How Do I Unlock With Face Id?
The phone isn’t scanning all the time. You’ll be required to wake the phone for using Face ID authentication. You need to wake or tap the Sleep/Wake button or an app or Apple service that request authentication. Then you’ll look at the phone.
To avoid unintentional unlocking, Apple claims that Face ID is “attention aware.” If you’re not looking at the phone attentively it will not perform an unlock operation.
But this option can be turned off by a user as an accessibility list. With time, Apple will create temporary updates on your Face ID profile for good matches. But it also warns that these updates are only good for limited number of unlocks.

Solution 1: Turn Off/On Face Id On iPhone
